Meet the Team
A warm welcome from us all!
Judith ‘Bun’ Matthews
Judith Matthews, known to most as Bun, created The Outbuildings from dilapidated ivy-clad stone buildings and opened for business in 2010. Her love of colour, passion for North Wales and great food is evident throughout.
Bun’s son, along with partner Millie took over the day-to-day running of The Outbuildings in 2016. On his day’s off Jack can generally be found fishing or paddleboarding round Anglesey’s fabulous coastline.
With a lifetime in hospitality and a new-found love of North Wales, Millie looks after events and wedding planning as well as the general day-to-day running of The Outbuildings.
Front of House
With a head for heights (she abseiled down the Marquis of Anglesey’s column when she was just 14), Chloe’s favourite things about working at The Outbuildings is helping out behind the bar and learning about new foods.
Disney-fanatic Emily, can most often be found exploring Anglesey’s beaches. The favourite part of her job is meeting new people. Favourite food ever…..paella
Keiron’s childhood dream was to be a fireman, fortunately these skills haven’t been called for at The Outbuildings! He loves the views of Snowdonia that he can enjoy from home and The Outbuildings, as well as meeting and chatting with guests.
Even with a degree in Linguistics, Hayley still cannot pronounce ‘Ll’, the Welsh voiceless lateral fricative phoneme (you may need to Google this….we did!). Hayley finds that a thirty minute walk anywhere on the island is the perfect antidote to pretty much anything.
Piano-playing Cara’s favourite dish (along with many of our guests) is the Sea Bass. She loves meeting guests, chatting about their time on the Island and extolling the virtues of North Wales.
The wonderful Jackie ensures your room is always sparkling ready for your arrival. But don’t blink, or you will miss her…..Jackie moves around The Outbuildings at lightening pace, and always with a smile!
